GE HealthCare Interns Win GE Technology Infrastructure Fundraising Challenge
August 2, 2010

The GE Healthcare IMLP Interns are proud to say that they have won the IMLP Intern Charity Fundraising Challenge!
From July 12th through July 23rd, IMLP Interns from across GE Technology Infrastructure (TI) competed to see who could raise the most money, per intern, for the charity of their choice. The Healthcare interns successfully raised $585 for the Wauwatosa, Ronald McDonald House. Some of the funds have been dedicated to preparing dinner for the families at the house, while the remainder will be used to purchase necessities for these families.
The Healthcare interns raised money by raffling off a signed Green Bay Packer’s 90th Season Commemorative Football, hosting a Jeans Day event, and leading a donation based Bake Sale.
As a precursor to the Bake Sale, the interns held a Bake Off to raise awareness for the challenge and obtain pastries for the Bake Sale held the next day. Prizes, including a donated gift card from Mo’s Irish Pub, were awarded for the first, second and third place teams.
Over the course of the summer, Interns on the Community Inclusion Committee (CIC) practiced valuable leadership skills by planning and executing events that ultimately helped them win the challenge against the GE Aviation and GE Transportation interns. However, most importantly, the Healthcare interns were able to help those in need.
EIDs on the Community Inclusion Committee (CIC) this summer are: Alejandra C., Sam T., Abbey W., Melissa W., and John Z.
